At Care in the Vale, we believe care agencies should not only understand the reasons why people need care (illness or old age, perhaps), but also the life experiences that make each person unique, interesting and valuable.

We should not hide behind uniforms or concepts such as ‘professional distance’ but be real people with a close interest in others.

We should be driven not so much by ‘professionalism’ but by our sense of ‘shared humanity’: i.e. what one human being does for another.

Our goal should be to leave people happier at the end of our visits than when we arrived. Happier because they have been well looked after by people who care for them and are interested in them.
